Over the last few weeks I was thinking about starting a blog. On the other hand there are already so many blogs out there. What am I going to tell? Is there anything that I can share with the world?
Every time I need to do something I just perform a search on Google and guess what? Somebody has already written about it. So I feel that I’m always two steps behind.

Then it occured to me: I’m in a relatively new situation. I’ve always worked as a Domino Developer. I’ve done both native Notes development and I’ve created intranet and extranet apps. But as of januari last year, I’ve taken up the Domino System administration part too.

So now I’m playing in 2 different leagues.

Over the last 16 months I’ve done things that I could never dream of. But I’ve also made huge mistakes. After all: it’s a learning curve.
So maybe this blog might be useful to those out there that haven’t got many years of experience as a System admin.
Maybe I can use this blog as a way to share stuff that will make most of you experienced gurus laugh out loud. But by sharing these experiences some of you might even learn something. Because not everybody is a fulltime admin. There are a lot of customers that I visit that have all-round IT managers and they don’t always know every single secret that the Domino server contains.

I’m not gonna think about this too much, I’m just going to jump in the Lotus blogging community and who knows? I might be able to share some neat stuff an hopefully learn some more things as I go.

New blog ? Hmm. April 8th 2008 ?
Doesn’t seem new to me.
Anyway, Sven, welcome to the blogosphere, and more importantly to the Lotus blogging community.

Thanks Theo.
It’s you who’s inspired me to start my own blog.
